James O'Regan and Damon Footer are no strangers to the beauty industry. After first earning their apprenticeships in Cork City, Ireland and London, England respectively, they met at Carlton Hair in Los Angeles in the early 90's. Over the course of twenty years working together they oversaw the training and development of many hundreds of hairdressers in a network of thirty salons strong.
In 2003 they launched the Academy, a space that soon became home to a variety of education programs, management courses and a world renowned creative team. In addition to ad campaigns that were published in Vogue, Bazaar and others, their images have also been published in nearly every major industry magazine in the world.
With this wealth of experience under their belts they decided it was time to break away and form an independent business. In May of 2014 they opened the doors to the Rua Salon /Academy and Spa and in 2017 brought on Kate Warrick to be Front-of-House Manager.
It is our goal to have a world class salon in Studio City. We are committed to the development of all individuals working or associated with Rua in any capacity. Weekly classes are available to all to ensure you receive top quality technical and creative work. The imagery you see in our salon is all done in house; we do the hair, styling, make-up and photography. We do not use manufactures imagery to promote our salon, we do and promote our own work!
James, Damon and Kate would like to invite you to come and experience the salon. You will walk in to a warm and friendly environment where you will be our priority. Our hairdressers are eager to answer any questions you may have and provide any haircare services needed. We would also like to take this opportunity to offer our personal guarantee of satisfaction. If you have any issues just let us know and we will make every effort to resolve your concerns. If you would like more information, check us out on Yelp, Instagram or Facebook. We look forward to seeing you soon.
Cheers!
James, Damon and Kate
"The goal of the salon was a simple one: to provide a home for creative minded people, with a clear focus on effortless, natural, beautiful hair."
